Orbital Welding is essentially a TIG welding process, where the arc is produced inside a weld head which automatically rotates at least 360° around the tube or pipe to be welded i.e. the welder orbits the work.

Weld joints of the highest quality are produced by this process, not only in terms of strength or even x-ray qualification, but also in appearance having a uniformly flat, smooth finish. (Illustrated right)

Computer monitoring of our state-of-the-art Orbimatic™ orbital welding systems allows the weld process parameters to be measured hundreds of times every second. If a discrepancy is found, the necessary adjustments are made automatically and instantaneously.

Weld Data Logs can be produced by the monitoring process, and included in a post installation report on contract completion if required.

Our highly trained welders are experienced and certified to BS EN 287 and ASME VIII standards, and our procedures to BS EN 288.
